David Hagy, Marketing Chair, Michigan Technology Network (MITN)

Michigan Technology Network (MITN) is a Lansing area volunteer-run organization with the goal to enhance the development of IT professionals in the area. This is done through educational and networking events with a focus on community involvement. As part of our objectives we also have MITN Fellowships which are awarded annually for education related initiatives in information technology. We are proud to help local professionals improve their skills and enhance their IT careers. To ensure MITN is able to support Lansing IT professionals in the future we created an endowed scholarship with Lansing Community College.

One of our favorite types of events are social mixer events. Our mixer events give local professionals a place to come and meet other technology professionals in the Lansing area and relax in a casual atmosphere with complimentary food. Additionally, our mixers allow the chance for MITN members to meet with MITN board members and get a look at what we do. We will be hosting our next MITN mixer coming up on July 25th at Old Chicago! We would like to invite all local Lansing IT professionals to come out and join us for some good food in a relaxed atmosphere. If you would like to know more about our upcoming event, please visit and register here.

At our July mixer we will also announce our future events of the year, which we are very excited about planning. One of these events includes a drone event with information on flying drones, new drone laws and how to become a professional licensed drone operator. Past the Drone event we are also planning our annual E-Cycle event where we allow people to bring in broken and unused electronics to be recycled. In addition, we are sponsoring a local game conference at MSU. If you want to stay up to date on what we’re planning, check out our Facebook page for more information as the events get closer. We are also looking for local professionals to join the MITN board and help us put on great events. It is a great opportunity to improve leadership and planning skills while helping organize events for your community. If you’re interested, please contact us at admin@mitn.org.

David Hagy works as an IT Programmer Analyst for the State of Michigan in the Enterprise Administration of Active Directory, SCCM, and PowerShell scripting. He also serves as the Marketing Chair on the MITN Executive Board.
